GENERAL INFO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The monument to the patriarch of Bulgarian literature, Ivan Vazov, is impressively successful in a realistic-monumental style. He is depicted in a regal posture, instead of a throne he is sitting on a rock, instead of a staff he holds a book in his right hand. The pose, despite being static, has a dynamic implication. In erect dignified torso and enhanced monumental proportions of the body, in his hip-rested left arm bent at the elbow towards the left leg drawn in and the right leg stepped forward with a hand holding a book, the shoulders tilts to the right and the head is turned to the left . Thus, his head is emphasized with a strong effect and his gaze is felt in the high horizon. In the related modeling of the forms of and his top garment, the rich structure of folds appropriately modeled in relief, the image-symbol of the national poet is built as the cornerstone of the Bulgarian spirit, from which we can see the horizon and walk along the rock with dignity and Bulgarian self-awareness. The monument was built in front of the emblematic for our city church \u201eSt. Sofia\u201c, and the grave of the writer is located on the other side, behind the altar.
